Godolphin Granite

A promotional piece of artwork for Falmouth Uni’s publication ‘The Edge’. Taking inspiration from a verse in ‘Cornwall My Home’ by the Fisherman's Friends, I wanted to depict the songs the miners sang as they went underground to work.

I've stood on Cape Cornwall in the sun's evening glow
On Chywoone Hill at Newlyn to watch the fishing fleets go
Watched the sheave wheels at Geevor as they spun around
And heard the men singing as they go underground

It has also been highly commended in the competition ‘Surreal Estates’ run by ‘The Box’ in Plymouth. It will be available to see until the 7th of September 2025
